That’s Koolade! Music producer who’s crafted tunes for some of hip-hop’s top lyrical pros and continues to work hard and excel. He stopped beating Rocky for a sec, so he could let us know more.

Zagreb, Croatia

How long have you been in the industry?
Since my first official track back in 1997

What equipment do you use?

daw, hardware & software synths, keyboards, bass guitar, guitar, guitar amps, mics, arms, legs, ears and heart.

What made you get into hip-hop/want to be a producer?

My older sister put me on to hip hop back in 89/90. Ever since I wanted to rap and make beats. Even b4 that I just wanted to make music...

How would you describe your sound?

Old skool, new skool, true skool, no skool.

How do you think being from Croatia has influenced your sound?

Not quite sure about that, but my music has influenced the sound in Croatia 4 sure! :)

Favorite track you've done?
International: Masta Ace "Beautiful", Izza Kizza "They're Everywhere", Ghostface "Good" (although that mix sucked major/was pissed about it), Consequence "Job Song"...
Croatian: Edo Maajka "... err... quite a few tracks actually, Tram 11 quite a few tracks as well...

Phat Phillie (manager) called me up that he's in town/I went & picked em up/ we made “You & Yours” and “Philly Morning”... simple as that! :)

If you could change something about the current state of hip-hop, what would it be?

Global lack of consciousness. Ignorance & apathy on this planet. Remember, not just Hip-hop is being degraded nowadays...

What are your upcoming projects?

The Makings (album), Sun Radio (conceptual electro funk)

What are your goals for the future?

Keep doin what I do... and do it better & better!!
